My real estate career started back in 1998.I was working for a small car dealership when the owner said he thought I would be a good real estate agent. I had no thoughts of going into real estate. But he gave me an offer I could not refuse. He said, "If you find a real estate class to attend, I will pay for you to go." He was true to his word and I started attending JY Monk Real Estate School (now Kaplan Real Estate Education). The more I went to class, the more I grew to love what I was learning. I didn't do anything publicly for over a year with my salesperson license. After a diligent search,  I found an incredible mentor in Rockingham, NC who had his own agency. He took me under his wings and taught me well. I then went back to real estate school and obtained my Brokers license in Jan 2001. After learning to fly from my mentor and leader, I ventured out on my own with my own agency for many years, leaving with his blessings.

When the real estate crash came, I decided to let my license go inactive but I still held on to them. Then around 2018, a former classmate approached me about doing a real estate deal for her. I told her my situation and she was willing to wait for me to take the needed classes to become active again. Although I did not do the deal I was hoping to do with her, I realized my love for real estate was still there. So, I started telling people I was in business again. Little did I realize the joys that awaited me when potential clients started calling me.

I was looking for a great company who could give me the technology I needed to compete and succeed. I found United Real Estate-Queen City and have never been happier. I was impressed with what they offered and when I found out it was a small flat fee per transaction and not a percentage, I literally said, "Where do I sign?" Having more money per transaction has been such a blessing for me and has allowed me to do all of the things I needed to do and some of the things I want to do. But more than having income, I have an occupation I love and it has allowed me to help others. And that is one of my greatest work-related accomplishments.

I have been so fortunate to work with everyone: classmates, young and old, single, engaged and married, relatives, and strangers who became like relatives. I am grateful for each person who has allowed me to help them purchase a home to call their own or to buy land where they could build their dream or to sell their home that ultimately blessed someone else with homeownership. What a wonderful journey for doing something that someone else believed I could do and be good at! For that, I am forever humbled.

So, with many years of industry experience, I know how to navigate through the path to home ownership and home sales. I am an independent agent (and systems trainer) with United Real Estate Queen City in Indian Trail, NC. I also own my own agency, Brenda's Realty Plus, LLC in Wadesboro, NC. I grew up and live just outside of Ansonville, NC. It is a small town with no stop lights, so it is about as county as you can get. You can sit on the porch and see the stars and hear the crickets. It's a lovely place for me to call home.

My certifications and designations include: REALTOR®, Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR®), Short Sale & Foreclosure Resource (SFR®), advanced internet technology training (e-Pro®), Pricing Strategy Advisor (PSA), North Carolina Workforce Housing Specialist (NCWHS), Military Relocation Professional (MRP), At Home With Diversity Certificate (AHWD), Certified Listing Professional (CLP), Certified Real Estate Negotiator (CREN) and Certified New Home Professional (CBHP).

As a caring professional, I understand the importance of home ownership. That is why I also partner with various lenders and other partner agencies who can assist with home loans, down payment assistance, student loan debt consolidation, low credit scores and more. Let's set an appointment to talk about how we can make home ownership possible for you! Get started now, so when the time comes, you will be ready to make your move!
